The museum features a number of permanent collections, including (but not limited to) the following:

Newtown Square Historical Society Collections Descriptions (New in 2014):  The Society has participated in the Hidden Collection Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories, an initiative of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania  that seeks to go out to small societies and museums in the suburban Philadelphia area, review their collections of archival materials (documents, diaries, portraits, business records, etc.), and prepare finding aids that are then put in a central searchable data base.  They also grade each collection, and provide an assessment of how well it is stored and cataloged, and offer a plan for improvement in those areas.  Their services are offered for free, and the result is both a professional report on the archives, and the creation of a regional data base that permits researchers to find materials that have been hidden away in these small archives.

Our Final Report can be found here.  If you would like to help implement the suggestions in the report, or wish to donate for the purchase of archival quality storage materials, please let us know.  If you wish to check out the searchable data base of area collections, then start here.
