The 18th annual Historic Newtown Square Day event will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, from Noon to 4:00 for outside activities at the Square Tavern in Newtown Square, Delaware County, PA. (10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. for home tours). This is a fundraiser for the Newtown Square Historical Society to fund its mission of education, outreach, and historic preservation.
- This annual event is attended by people from across the Delaware Valley.
- Some of the best-known historic sites in the community, including the Square Tavern (John West House), the Paper Mill House, the Octagonal School House, and the Quaker Meeting House are open with guides who explain the significance of the site to visitors.
- A number of private homes will be open from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 for ticket holders.
- An outdoor market on the grounds of the Square Tavern will include local businesses and community organizations, live music, food, and children’s activities, as well as craft demonstrations and living history activities.
