The Newtown Square Historical Society presents an opportunity to take part in sharing town’s memories with others that lived those very same memories or are interested in learning more about our past.
Hosted by the societies Past-President, Doug Humes, ESQ, along with Christopher Driscoll the current Museum Curator, Webmaster and Technology master, you will travel down Newtown Square’s memory lane. The society will share pictures of long forgotten places and you will be able to add input or just sit back and enjoy the show. The really fun part will happen with your participation. Please bring any old pictures that you may have of our home town that you are willing to share. With your permission, the society will be prepared to copy your pictures for inclusion in our historic archives at the Paper Mill House.
This is your opportunity to enter our “time capsule” with your pictures and stories of our past. We are in the process of updating the website which includes many pictures and stories about our historic buildings and residents. This is a great location for residents to look up places that they remember or ones that you may have recently sited along a roadside. It is sad, but we are losing many such places to progress or through neglect.
We hope that this focus will remind everyone of the importance of maintaining a record of our past for our future generations. Your pictures and stories will help represent a bridge from the past to our children and their children.
